SaskRTEC was established in January 2025 by a group of Registered Respiratory Therapists in Saskatchewan with the objective of providing high-quality, research-based educational opportunities to respiratory therapy professionals across the province. Following the implementation of new legislation, the Saskatchewan College of Respiratory Therapists (SCRT) was no longer able to offer educational conferences to its members, necessitating this transition. One year later, SaskRTEC has formally incorporated as a non-profit organization under the name Saskatchewan Respiratory Therapy Education Committee Inc.
SaskRTEC is committed to providing access to high-quality, evidence-based respiratory therapy education to members across Saskatchewan at no cost.

Matthew is one of SaskRTEC’s founding members and a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in adult critical care in Saskatoon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2019, followed by a Respiratory Therapy diploma from NAIT in 2022, and is currently pursuing an MBA at Carleton University. In addition to his clinical work, Matthew sits on the board of directors for both Lung Sask and The STREAM™ Foundation, spreading his passion for lung health and community wellbeing. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing near his hometown of Prince Albert. He currently serves on the SaskRTEC board as Treasurer.

Megan is one of the Directors of the organization, where she is passionate about advancing education and knowledge translation in the RT field. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and went on to complete her Respiratory Therapy diploma at SAIT. In addition to her clinical work, Megan is actively involved in the profession through her volunteer role with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) Scientific Committee, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based practice and professional education. Outside of work, Megan enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and exploring nature with her dogs and fiancé.
